"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week I am incredibly excited for The Reckoning of Noah Shaw by Michelle Hodkin. I don't think I can put into words just how excited I am. I have been reading the Mara Dyer series since it first came out, and I absolutely like this story, this world, and these characters! Michelle Hodkin is a goddess with words, so I know this book will be amazing. The Becoming of Noah Shaw ended with a huge cliffhanger, and really left his and Mara's relationship up in the air. In that Noah learned Mara has murdered a lot more people than she says she has. To be fair, I'm a big fan of the murdery Mara sweet Noah combination, but she *might* need to learn to control her murderyness a little bit. I also would love to learn more about Mara's grandmother and the possibly evil guy that's trying to lure all these superpowered teens to his secret group. Basically, I plan to devour this book in one sitting. One other aspect I like is reading a book where the main character has depression, but that isn't the main point of the plot. That's always something I'm looking for more of in the YA book world. But more than anything else, I just want Noah and Mara to have a happy ending.
Synopsis:
Noah Shaw doesn’t think he needs his father’s inheritance.
He does.
Noah believes there’s something off about the suicides in his visions.
There is.
Noah is convinced that he still knows the real Mara Dyer.
He does not.
Everyone thought the nightmare had ended with Mara Dyer’s memoirs, but it was only the beginning. As old skeletons are laid bare, alliances will be tested, hearts will be broken, and no one will be left unscarred.
Release: November 13, 2018
