Spoilers for book one ahead!
I have been broken, hit in the feels, all out murdered by this book. Why A.G. Howard, why? Just, AH! And the ending, such a cliffhanger! Are you really going to make us faithful readers wait a full year for Ensnared? You'd be killing me if I weren't already dead! *glares at book* How I
The main character is Alyssa Gardner, Aly for short. Quick backstory, this series is a spin-off of Alice in Wonderland. Alyssa is descended from Alice, expect not really. She's descended from the Red Queen disguised as Alice, and now Alyssa has magical powers and is the queen of Wonderland! Aly avoids her powers and has come back to the human world. But at the start of the book, Aly realizes that even though she's left, Wonderland won't let her go. Aly is powerful in so many ways, it's amazing. Inside and out, she's the epitome of beauty, strength, and love. Aly sacrifices so much for those she cares about, specifically her boyfriend Jeb. *growls* I don't exactly care for Jeb. Don't get me wrong, he's perfectly nice and I want good things for him, but there's a love triangle. And I like the other guy more. Anyways, Aly has an awesome fashion sense that I am dying for!
See this picture? According to the author, it played a part in the book and shows Alyssa's fashion sense when it comes to the fancier side of things. That said, I have a plan in place to go to some thrift shops and MAKE this dress if I have to! Aly's head is so fun to be in, I can't get over it! TEAM MORPHEUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As I mentioned above, there is a love triangle between Alyssa, Jeb, and guy #3, Morpheus. I am Team Morpheus through and through. See! See!
@Tween2TeenBooks Oooh, wondering which scene this might be. Hmmm. Did it have something to do with wings and cobwebs? *coughs*

@Tween2TeenBooks Ahh, yep. That one's a doozy. Guy is a charmer. ;)

Have I mentioned how much I love Morpheus? He's cunning and dangerous, but at the same time, caring and kind. In the end, he looks out for Aly, and never doubts her. He's used to her blend of madness, and is the one person, besides possibly her mother, who truly gets it. Especially after all he did for Aly towards the end of Unhinged, I can't stop loving him for the life of me!This is the result of finishing Unhinged:
@Tween2TeenBooks Hehe. NO, you must live! You must live so you can read the third one. :)

And guess what, we have to wait a WHOLE YEAR for the next book. Wait, I think I said that already. Can you see how this review is going. I have been hit in the feels and I'm not getting back up.
*dies from an injury to the feels*

As you can tell, this has been a hard journey. I loved Unhinged SO much! I got it from the library last night, and haven't put it down since. With all the books I'll be buying next month, I can't afford to buy it or book one, but as soon as I can, I'm buying these babies! The plot is thick and tense. There are so many twists and turns, I couldn't keep track. People are backstabbed by friends and saved by enemies. The romance is sizzling. I wish there had been more moments between Morpheus and Alyssa, but I hope that that will be remedied in book three. *shoots A.G. Howard a look* Unhinged was complete and utter madness and I loved every moment of it!
P.S. This just in!
@Tween2TeenBooks Haha! LOVE this mad review. And yes, make the dress! (She actually wears the dress inspired by it in book 3--hehe).

Author Bio:
Anita Grace Howard lives in the Texas panhandle, and is most at home weaving the melancholy and macabre into settings and scenes, twisting the expected into the unexpected. She’s inspired by all things flawed, utilizing the complex loveliness of human conditions and raw emotions to give her characters life, then turning their world upside down so the reader’s blood will race.
Married and mother of two teens (as well as surrogate mom to two Labrador retrievers), Anita divides her days between spending time with her family and plodding along or plotting on her next book.
When she’s not writing, Anita enjoys rollerblading, biking, snow skiing, gardening, and family vacations that at any given time might include an impromptu side trip to an 18th century graveyard or a condemned schoolhouse for photo ops.

Synopsis:
Wonderland was just the beginning...Alyssa Gardner has been down the rabbit hole and faced the bandersnatch. She saved the life of Jeb, the guy she loves, and escaped the machinations of the disturbingly appealing Morpheus and the vindictive Queen Red. Now all she has to do is graduate high school and make it through prom so she can attend the prestigious art school in London she's always dreamed of.
That would be easier without her mother, freshly released from an asylum, acting overly protective and suspicious. And it would be much simpler if the mysterious Morpheus didn’t show up for school one day to tempt her with another dangerous quest in the dark, challenging Wonderland—where she (partly) belongs.
As prom and graduation creep closer, Alyssa juggles Morpheus’s too-tangible presence in her real world with trying to tell Jeb the truth about a past he’s forgotten. Glimpses of Wonderland start to bleed through her art and into her world in very disturbing ways, and Morpheus warns that Queen Red won’t be far behind.
If Alyssa stays in the human realm, she could endanger Jeb, her parents, and everyone she loves. But if she leaves, she'll face a deadly battle that could cost more than just her head.
Can she turn her back on her human life, Jeb, and her parents for the sake of a man she knows has manipulated her before? Will her mother and Jeb trust her to make the right choice not only for herself, but for the good of Wonderland?
